All new and significantly modified existing products sold by Owens Corning undergo a comprehensive Product Stewardship Review to ensure that they perform as claimed and are both safe and environmentally sound to make, use and dispose. More information
2012 was our safest year in our history and was the 11th consecutive year of safety improvement. We reduced our recordable incident rate (RIR) by 10 percent in comparison to 2011, and achieved a record low RIR of 0.45. Since 2001, the number of recordable injuries has been reduced by 95 percent and our recordable incident rate has decreased by 93percent. More information.

Like many manufacturing companies with long histories, Owens Corning operations have impacted the environment through releases, spills or disposal of wastes and other substances. While most of these impacts occurred well in the past, Owens Corning remains responsible for completing several environmental remediations, maintaining remediated sites, or helping fund the remediation at multi-party disposal facilities.
