We encourage breakthrough thinking that delivers innovative products and value to our customers and investors. The 2010 Innovation Award winners consisted of four teams and 32 individuals, who were recognized for achievements in the following areas:
Productivity and Waste Elimination – Members of the Fiber Forming Center of Excellence identified key opportunities for alloy reduction.
New Product Innovation – This team launched six new colors to supplement the more traditional look of our Duration® and Duration® Premium shingles. The distinct colors quickly resonated with homeowners and customers.
Special Achievement – This team developed a natural replacement for the formaldehyde binder in fiber glass insulation products, which led to EcoTouch™ insulation with PureFiber® Technology.
Special Achievement – This group developed new processes and control systems to eliminate process variability and ensure a high quality EcoTouch™ insulation product.
Patent milestones – One individual was recognized for obtaining his 50th patent, and six others were recognized for obtaining their 15th.
