Affinity Groups
What makes diversity meaningful at Owens Corning? The ability to access great talent, having outstanding role models, and being comfortable with who we are. Our six affinity groups were built with these objectives in mind. The affinity groups support the efforts of "Building Tomorrow's Leaders Today" via activities that:
Drive Employee engagement;

Foster Internal and External Community Connections.
African American Resource Group – AARG
Advance excellence through attracting, acclimating, retaining, and accelerating career growth, thus enhancing Owens Corning's business performance while leveraging the strength of a diverse workforce.
Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender & Advocates – GLBTA
The GLBTA network is an Owens Corning diversity group for all employees of Owens Corning who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender, and proactive advocates (interested supporters of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender equality). Our vision is to achieve a work environment that is inclusive and safe, where people feel they can be fully engaged to create and problem-solve to their maximum potential and to be confident in a work environment where they will be fairly evaluated.
Hispanic Diversity Council – HDC
The HDC is a network of Owens Corning employees that stands by the concept of diversity, while promoting the Hispanic culture and serving as a resource to attract, retain, and accelerate career growth of extraordinary talent.

Proactive Recruiting
Owens Corning is continuously focused on attracting diverse talent. As part of this effort in the U.S., our diversity strategies include the following:
Partnering with national associations, such as National Black MBA Association and Society of Women Engineers, and attending their national conferences to identify top-notch candidates.
Engaging diversity-focused recruitment firms to work congruently with other firms to assure a diverse talent pool.

Recognition
One strong indicator of the company's inclusive work environment is its seventh consecutive top rating in the Corporate Equality Index. This annual survey is administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation regarding our relationships with gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender employees and consumers.
